Roller Coaster

I titled this update "roller coaster" because that's what our life has been like in the past few weeks. Lots of ups and downs. I'll start with the downs: sick children, injured husband who had to spend his whole vacation with his leg propped up, teething babies, slow business, not so slow bills, missed church, family, and friends, etc. You get the picture...not fun!

Thank goodness there have been some ups, too:
C turned 3 and his party was a blast! He loved his train cake and playing with his friends. Since he is a big boy now, he is starting to have some jobs around the house. His first one is to feed Mutt. I think C enjoys this new responsibility. He has also started his first gymnastics class....hmmm...wonder why? Mr. Ben will be his coach. Even though the class is at our gym, and Matt is there, it still felt weird dropping C off at "class". I feel like I'm entering a new phase of Mommyhood...gymnastics, soccer, and all manner of activities. Kindergarten will be here before I know it!

N&T have really developed their own little personalities in the last few weeks. We think N is more like me, and T is more like Matt. They are starting to really play and interact with each other. It is hilarious to watch! They steal toys, pull hair, and generally pester each other...but love it! My favorite thing to hear is all 3 boys playing and laughing. It usually involves some type of spitting noises and a big mess of toys, but I love it nonetheless.

I have a funny story about T. I was strolling N&T in Target and stopped to look at some clearance baby clothes. It is not uncommon for people to stop and talk to me about the babies, and I had already talked to several people this trip. I finished looking at the clothes and went on my way toward diapers. I kept noticing people looking at me funny, but I thought they were just noticing the twins. After a few minutes I looked around the front of the stroller to check on things (T loves to get all the toys on his side of the stroller and leave N high and dry). When I looked at T, he had a huge stack of shorts in his lap. He had chewed the tag off one pair and was working on a second pair. All I could see was his head sticking up. I just about fell on the floor from shock and laughter. A nearby employee heard me say, "Oh My Goodness...How did you do that?" and came to retrieve the shorts. Apparently while I was looking at baby clothes, T raked a big stack of shorts off a table and onto his lap. Needless to say...I've got my hands and stroller full!
